Mr Xuchun Qi, Deputy Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Executive Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang, led a rural market research team to visit Biocentury to update themselves about the R&D activities of agricultural companies, commercialization of R&D results and market development. The team was accompanies by Mr Jun LI, Deputy Chairman of the Shenzhen People's Political Consultative Conference (SPPCC), chairman of the Shenzhen Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang, and welcomed by Biocentury's top management team of Chainrman Mr Kaisong WU, CEO Dr Yasheng YANG, Dr Qiyun DENG, Mr Tao HUANG, Dr Hongzhi CUI and Mr Yuhui WANG.
The guests first visited Biocentury's Biotech Research Center followed by presentation and briefing. After the welcome speech of Chairman WU, CEO Dr YANG delivered a presentation about the high-tech R&D activities; commercialization and application of R&D results; molecular breeding, seed production, promotion and crop management service with special emphasis on the contribution of agriculture high-tech R&D to upgrade the Chinese agriculture structure. In addition, Dr Yang addressed some encountered problems, difficulties, and legal issues on the commercialization of agriculture high-tech R&D, and proposed constructive suggestions for improvements.
After Dr Yang's presentation, Mr QI said that Chinese agriculture modernization is part of the most important national strategies by the Central Government and the "13th National Five-Year Plan" , Bioentury has invested strategically in R&D spending and manpower development, promoted the commercialization process of R&D results, and contributed proactively to the Chinese agriculture development. In addition, he will summarize Biocentury's addressed problems and suggestions as a full trip report to be circulated in relevant ministries and departments of the Central Government to solve the problems and make improvements.
