Biocentury is spending about 5% of annual sales in many breeding stations in China and Pakistan for germplasm improvement and crop breeding of cotton, canola, maize, rice, wheat, vegetables and horticulture varieties. In addition to conventional breeding technologies and germplasm improvement, Biocentury is exploring the latest molecular breeding technologies to speed up the breeding process and improve efficiency, such as transgenic plants, marker-assistant breeding, double haploid, mutagenesis and genome editing.

So far, 25 government approved crops varieties (cotton, maize, rice, wheat and canola) at both National and Provincial levels have been registered and commercialized in China.
