China is the world largest vegetable production country with more than 20 million ha planting area and over 700 million Mt fresh vegetable production (500 kg per person). Vegetable breeding has been improving gradually and currently Chinese seed companies provide 85% vegetable seeds for Chinese famers.

 

Biocentury has invested in the vegetable seed business in 2010 by setting up the subsidiary company, Biocentury Horticulture (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd., for importing and exporting fresh vegetable and horticulture products and seeds. In addition, Biocentury is collaborating with like-minded partners with strong R&D capabilities to get new varieties to be marketed in China and Asian countries.
